At Chenies we strive to ensure children feel inspired and confident to have a go at speaking another language. Learning any language provides an opening for children to learn about other cultures and broaden their horizons. We have chosen Spanish because it is the second most spoken language in the world, and therefore allows access not only to Spain and many different Islands but also most South American countries and increasingly large parts of the United States of America. It is our aim to develop in our children a love of learning a foreign language and to teach them some basic vocabulary which will enable them to express confidently their ideas and thoughts in another language, either verbally or through writing - as well as to lay the foundations for learning a future language.
