Football Match Reports

On the 22nd April, the Chenies School football team played an away match at Chesham Bois School, with Niklas Buchanan as the captain. The game started off not too well. The opposition team scored very early, and to top it off the pitch was slanted which gave the other team more of an advantage and the weather was horrible with freezing cold hale spitting down, which gave us little confidence.

The whistle then blew for the end of the first half. We gathered to speak about the second half – giving each other advice; because of this, Noah scored in the second half, followed by Niklas scoring towards the end of the match. Everybody played very well. Even though the score was 3-2 to Chesham Bois, everyone thought they had given it their all and were still very happy with the result.

On 28th April, the Chenies School football team played an away match against Waterside Combined School with Charlie Brampton as the captain. Just before the match the team talked
tac- tics and practiced our penalty shootouts.  Everyone got into their positions, ready to play the match. The referee blew the whistle and the game started. Within the first 2 minutes Waterside scored, not filling us with confidence or team spirit but we kept trying.  This led to Noah scoring a great goal, equalising the score to 1-1. Although a few minutes later Waterside scored their second and last goal, making the scores to be 2-1 to Waterside. The whistle then blew to signify the end of the first half. But little did Chenies know that the second half would be very lucky for them.

Chenies started with the ball getting passed to Niklas who scored our amazing second goal, the scores were now 2 all. Waterside started with the ball for the next part. Once again Niklas swooped in and shot the ball into the goal! And then for a bit nothing happened, until Harry Chatto tackled the ball off an opposition player and scored an incredible top right corner goal. The whistle then blew with the end result being 4-2 to Chenies. Everyone jumped for joy and Chenies were very happy with the score. Altogether it was a great football match!
