Geography

At Chenies we strive to inspire a lifelong curiosity about the people , environments, landscapes, and processes that contribute to the make up of the world that they inhabit.  We seek to broaden our children’s horizons by engaging them on subjects that they can relate to, and for this reason Geography at Chenies allows opportunities for off site visits both within the local area and further afield including the opportunity to attend residential visits in two contrasting locations during upper Key Stage 2. As a school we are also keen for children to develop their understanding of the environment through our Eco Warrior initiatives that aim to promote sustainable living and the chance to contribute to the care of the school grounds.

We follow a two year curriculum cycle across the foundation curriculum, ensuring that children cover all areas of the subject during their 2 years in a class.  This ensures all areas of the National Curriculum are covered and embedded.

Whilst our children are taught in a mixed class, different skills are developed in each year group as they progress through the school within each subject.
