Music Assembly

8th July 2015

Our Summer Music Concert took place on Wednesday 8th July. All children were invited to play their musical instruments.  We had a range of instruments - piano, guitar, recorder, cello, violin and clarinet!.

A big thank you goes to Mr Fentimen, Mrs Snowsill and Mrs Palfreman for helping us to co-ordinate this event and their continued support, co-operation and flexibility in accommodating our children as much as possible around the school’s many events and activities.

Not only do our children play musical instruments in and out of school but they are also involved in singing festivals along with other schools learning different styles and harmonies together with music from different cultures.

All the other children, parents and staff were impressed on how far the musicians have progressed this year.

Many of our children have passed music examinations and key stage steps during this year and made outstanding progress for their ages.

Sadly this was our last Music Concert Assembly with the wonderful Mr Fentimen as he has decided to reduce his working hours from September and regrettably he will no longer be teaching at Chenies School.

May I take this opportunity to thank him on behalf of every student he has taught at Chenies, for his invaluable assistance in helping the children at the Music Concert Assemblies, whether they are guitarists or not! For his dedication and commitment to his students, which is reflected in the fact that all of them wish to continue lessons with him when they move onto Secondary School.  We will all miss him very much and wish him a very happy and relaxing time in the future.
